Compress Images
Shrink PNG, JPG and WebP files while keeping quality — and transparency — intact.
How image compression works
Compression reduces a file’s size by storing its pixels more efficiently. For PNGs we reduce the colour palette where it’s safe to do so and apply maximum lossless packing, which keeps edges crisp and transparency intact. For JPG and WebP, the quality slider controls how much visual detail is preserved.
Tips for the best results
- Start at quality 70 and lower it until you notice a difference.
- Keep PNG for graphics with transparency; use JPG or WebP for photos.
- Resize oversized images first with our resize tool.
